Tool Room Machinist

The Tool Room Machinist will work with stainless steel and other materials to create custom products used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and be proficient in operating manual lathes and machining centers. This role involves producing low-volume, precision components.

Tool Room Machinist Key Responsibilities:

  • Machining & Manufacturing: Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and CNC machining centers
  • Precision & Quality Control: Perform precise measurements and inspections on all finished parts.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to understand part dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
  • Tool Setup & Maintenance: Set up tooling, fixtures, and machine programs. Regularly maintain tools, equipment, and machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure the timely completion of projects and address any challenges that arise during production.

Tool Room Machinist Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a machinist in a tool room or manufacturing environment, particularly with stainless steel or other metals.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of manual machining techniques, including operating lathes, milling machines, and CNC machining centers.
  • Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD designs.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards and quality control measures, especially in the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), when necessary.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and report issues or updates.
  • Certification: Certification from a recognized trade school or apprenticeship program is a plus.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing PREFERRED: Prior experience working in a regulated environment or producing components for the pharmaceutical or medical device industries.
  • Additional Skills: Familiarity with CAD/CAM software or advanced CNC operations

 

Welders

Welder Job Description:

  • Lays out, fits and welds fabricated and cast components to assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, hoppers, feedscrews, adapters and pumps.
  • Read complex blueprints to determine relevant information for welding operations.
  • Read manufacturing orders for information relevant to the welding operations and determine where completed parts are to be staged and move completed parts to the next staging area.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
  • Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, mig, tig, or gas welding equipment.
  • Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts
  • Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.

Welder Job Requirements:

  • Must be proficient using arc, mig, tig, or gas welding equipment.
  • Must be able to read complex blueprints.
  • Must have knowledge and experience working with various ferrous and non-ferrous.
  • Must have good math skills.
  • Must be able to maintain tolerance and finishes to engineering and manufacturing specifications.
  • Must be able to read manufacturing orders.
  • Proficient using various welding wire and rods such as 17-4, 304 and stellite.

  • Follow detailed work instructions, SOPs, Batch Records and procedures to correctly assemble/package finished goods.
  • Complete applicable line clearance, compliance and timely completion of training records and execute right first-time batch records with GDP/GMP compliance top of mind.
  • Conduct and direct daily, weekly and monthly cleaning protocols of ISO class clean room and anti-room.
  • Assist in product/process development and validation in the clean room environment.

  • Read and understand English
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions, trigonometry, geometry and decimals; the ability to compute rate, ratio, draft angles and percentages and interpret graphs and statistics
  • Intermediate to advanced personal computer skills; experienced at Microsoft Office applications with very strong knowledge and proficient skills in Solidworks, Moldworks, or similar 3D CAD software including the ability to manipulate geometry, splines, curves, radii, complex surfaces and solids
  • Comfort wearing PPE required for a clean room environment
