This part-time position involves placing finished goods into the stockroom, pulling materials for production, and performing regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Material Handler Key Responsibilities:
- Stockroom Management:
- Receive, organize, and store finished goods in designated stockroom locations.
- Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of inventory.
- Maintain a clean and organized stockroom environment.
- Production Material Handling:
- Pull materials from inventory and deliver them to production lines as needed.
- Collaborate with production staff to ensure materials are available to meet schedules.
- Safely operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Inventory Control and Cycle Counting:
- Perform regular cycle counts of inventory to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Document inventory adjustments and report findings to the Inventory Manager.
- Shipping and Receiving Support:
- Assist with receiving incoming materials and verifying quantities against purchase orders.
- Support shipping tasks as needed, including preparing goods for shipment.
Material Handler Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in material handling, inventory management, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software or ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Forklift certification is a plus but not required.
