Automatic/CNC Screw Machine Operator Job Description

  • Follows process sheets and uses individual judgment to perform first piece and in process quality checks, both visually and mechanically.
  • Completes rework as necessary on products rejected by quality inspection.
  • Makes tooling adjustments when product is out of required specifications.
  • Reports malfunctions of screw machining equipment to appropriate personnel.

Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance on a regular basis such as, but not limited to, checking and replacing coolant, checking fluid oils, emptying metal chips, and cleaning machinery and work areas. Interfaces with maintenance personnel regarding equipment breakdowns.

Automatic/CNC Screw Machine Operator Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to operate production screw machinery without assistance.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • The employee is required to stand and walk for the complete shift.
  • Moderate physical effort is required to load machines with bar stock and move and carry work in process up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposed to machine noise, cutting oils, solvents and coolant vapors.

 

 

 

Drawbench Machine Operator – $1000 Sign-on Bonus

Drawbench Operator Position Description:

The Drawbench Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating all draw benches and related equipment including bar drawing reelers while achieving targeted results in safety, output and quality.

• Use measuring equipment, including micrometers and tape measures
• Ensure proper Alkaline cleaning of product, including blowing of plugs
• Set up and operate pointers
• Set up tooling for upcoming production size changes

CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist Job Description:

  • Sets up, operates, edits and tap proofs all levels of work on the CNC lathes to machine metallic and nonmetallic work pieces.
  • Works with appropriate personnel in production control, engineering, inspection, supervisors and other employees to resolve job related problems such as tooling, fixtures, chucking, and program and blueprint specifications.
  • Verifies conformance of work piece to engineering and manufacturing specifications.
  • Studies manufacturing orders and organizes materials and tools for next run during automatic controlled cycles to shorten changeover time.
  • Lifts work piece manually or with hoist, and positions and secures work piece in chuck or fixture, or mounts between centers.
  • Removes burrs, sharp edges and clean parts.
  • Stamps identifying number on parts as instructed.
  • Study program, blueprints, manufacturing drawings, tool sheets and manufacturing orders to verify they are correct and fill out proper paperwork when changes are necessary.

CNC Machinist Requirements:

  • Complex blueprint reading.
  • Proficient tape proofing programs and related tasks such as using machine graphics to find program errors and other potential problems.
  • Proficient mounting and boring jaws, loading parts, loading fixture, loading and using tail-stock and steady rest.
  • Proficient identifying, mounting and setting offsets for all I/D and O/D tooling used.
  • Knowledge of cutting inserts and tools for turning, drilling, boring, threading, grooving and profiling.

  • A minimum of five years of plastic industry and operations management experience with ability to demonstrate sophisticated knowledge of medical plastic processing techniques using a wide variety of resin materials
  • Background in quality including firm understanding of processes and procedures to support and maintain ISO certification
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and interpret graphs
