Machinist Technician

The Machinist Technician is responsible for assembling, arranging, and maintaining production machines such as lathes, mills and, grinders.

Machinist Technician Job Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and operates production machines following prints and specifications.
  • Chooses, aligns, and securely attaches holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and other materials on machines.
  • Applies knowledge of mathematics and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Identifies malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining; adjusts controls of machine to correct errors.
  • Inspects and measures completed production units to identify defects caused by machine setup.

Machinist Technician Job Requirements:

  • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in Manufacturing/Technical Programming; OR completion of a full apprenticeship program; OR successful completion of suitable company training required.
  • At least one year of experience as a machinist required.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic

Perform skilled and general maintenance work to service and repair the structure, plant systems, machines, and equipment.

Maintenance Mechanic Job Description:

  • Diagnose, rebuild, or overhaul machines and equipment to remedy operational problems.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and replace mechanical equipment parts, electrical switches, small motor controls, etc.
  • Assist in the installation and repair of machines and plant systems.
  • Conduct preventative and general maintenance activities to ensure plant systems and equipment are in good operating conditions.

Maintenance Mechanic Job Requirements:

  • Two years maintenance and repair experience in plastic injection molding.
  • Ability to read and utilize electrical and hydraulic prints and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of low voltage (600v or less) electrical wiring, logic relays (electrical controls), hydraulics, plumbing (PVC, copper, galvanized), and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a forklift truck license issued by the Company.

Package molded parts in cartons or containers and perform a variety of activities for the Production Department

Packer Job Description:

  • Check for defects, remove runners, trim flash, and pack good product into cartons.
  • Ensure product is properly labeled.
  • Grind waste materials and products.
  • Seal cartons and stack full cartons on pallets.
  • Watch and shovel material. Keep work area clear and swept.
  • Make cartons as assigned.
  • Perform housekeeping activities such as; sweeping the floor, taking cardboard to the compactor, and cleaning up major messes to maintain a clean and orderly production room.
  • Clean presses, auxiliary equipment, and surrounding areas when there is a mold change.
  • Check rejected boxes for problems and/or perform activities to rework rejects so they will meet product and packaging quality standards.

Packer Job Requirements:

  • Ability to read and understand part specification sheets to follow packing instructions.
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 35 pounds to shoulder height

Swiss CNC Setup / Programmer / Engineer Job Responsibilities:

  • Support production with machine setups, trouble shooting, process improvement, operator training and other functions
  • Program Swiss machines with Part Maker software
  • Support engineering with part updates, machine layouts and programs, as well as other functions
  • Attend trade shows to gain knowledge on different and new technology within the manufacturing field
  • Generate new business quotations for customers; includes cycle layouts and choosing proper tooling for the job
  • Communicate with customers throughout the entire quoting and manufacturing process
  • Suggest modifications to customer specifications to simplify engineering and manufacturing problems
  • Generate blueprints, tool layouts and programs on newly awarded business

Swiss CNC Setup / Programmer / Engineer Requirements:

  • Ability to read and understand part prints/drawing and specifications
  • Experience with Tsugami Swiss CNC, Star Swiss CNC Machines, Fanuc controls
  • Experience with inspection devices, specifically optical comparators, micrometers, and calipers
  • Experience with drawing software, Solidworks is a plus
  • Experience with computer and/or machine programming, PartMaker CAM a plus
  • Experience in CNC swiss machining
  • Read, write, and interpret documents and instructions in written, oral, print, diagram and schedule form (English)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely
