Mechanical Assembly

Assembler (Mechanical):

Perform diversified assembly and erection operations to assemble highly intricate and/or large and expensive precision apparatus, machines and equipment having critical tolerances and strict inspection requirements.  Plan assembling and erecting procedures.  Do skilled fitting, aligning, adjusting and secondary machining.  Check and test sub-assemblies and units.  Work from complicated assembly drawings and specifications.  Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and gauging devices.  Proceed with minimum supervision.  Completed assemblies are subject to inspection and test.  Requires a high degree of skill and assembling technique, plus considerable experience and knowledge of design and mechanical principles.

Blaster/De-Coat Operator

Currently seeking a 2ND SHIFT (2pm-10:30pm) – Blaster/De-coat Operator and Tool Prepper for our Brookfield, WI headquarters. Under the direction of the Coating Division Manager and Coating Lead, set-up and operate wet polishing machines, perform de-coat operations on customer tooling orders, prepare internal and external orders for the coating process by inspecting, racking, tagging and cleaning tools using automated and manual processes. As part of their primary responsibilities, this individual will also ensure final coated product is inspected for quality, re-packaged and routed to next operations.

Responsibilities of the Tool Prep Operator include but are not limited to:
Visually inspects product for unacceptable coating conditions or defects prior to pre-polishing or post-polishing.
Loads product into wet polishing and/or de-coating fixtures following production routing.
Responsible for correct condition of blasting and de-coating systems, setting of parameters.
Correctly carries out the wet blasting/polishing and de-coating processes according to the router and documentation.
Maintain safe working conditions and cleanliness of work areas at all times.
Interact with internal and external customers in a ‘customer-friendly’ manner.
Receive and inspect product for processing, verify product order number, process sequence, specifications, special instructions, and quantity.
Inspect product for unacceptable coating conditions; route product for appropriate operation.
Follow appropriate procedures for tooling to complete the automated cleaning process.
Perform manual cleaning using chemical and mechanical methods.
Responsible for performing daily process control on equipment.
Break down loads by matching paperwork, before forwarding to next operation.
Inspect finished product.; verify product is acceptable to move to next operation.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of workstation and equipment.
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Ability to read, understand and follow written instructions such as S.O.P.’s, work instructions, technical documents, and manufacturing prints.
Ability to perform written communication
Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to use basic hand tools.
Previous experience with basic machine operation, metallurgy, coating processes, vacuum technology is desirable. Knowledge of industrial cutting tools (e.g. drills, end mills, dies, etc.) preferred, but not required.
Individual must have strong work ethic, be high-energy, and detail-oriented.

Tool Prep

We are seeking an individual for a temp-to-hire 3rd shift Tool Prep position in our Coating group. They would be responsible for prepping tools for the wash line and coating operations in addition to disassembly of the coating trees after coating. Hours 10:00pm – 6:30am. Pay Rate $14.00 hour.

Quality Inspector

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Responsible to perform geometric dimensional inspections on received goods, first article, in-process and finished cutting tools. Work from blueprints, uses inspection equipment with minimal amount of supervision.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Inspect to drawing specifications for accuracy and completeness.
• Use inspection equipment to measure tools for all parameters per Guhring Specifications and customer requirements.
• Inspect tools for visual defects.
• Perform measurement of tool geometry and characteristics.
• Document measurements including non-conformances on inspection report forms.
• Complete inspection reports per customer requirement as required.
• Consult with engineers and production personnel to acquire information as directed.
• Perform internal process audits as directed.
• Responsible for keeping area clean at all times.

EDUCATION

Associates degree or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in ISO Certified organization.
• Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Must have demonstrated proficiency in mathematics, blueprint reading, inspection techniques, use of callipers, micrometers and other inspection equipment.
• Must have knowledge of PC’s and Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with customer, suppliers and fellow co-workers.
• Exhibits a positive “customer service” approach when interacting with internal and external candidates.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems typical of manufacturing processes (SPC, 5 why’s, Fishbone diagrams, flow charts etc.

Coating Tool Prep

• Verify product is acceptable to move to next operation.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of workstation and equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Muliti Axis CNC

Seeking a CNC Precision Tool Grinder,multi-axis CNC universal grinding machines and robotic auto-loading accessories used to manufacture precision cutting tools from solid carbide blanks.

As a CNC Precision Tool Grinder you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Setup and operate equipment to perform complex machining operations to close tolerance customer specification.
  • Operate multi axis CNC grinding machines to manufacture, sharpen and recondition carbide or high speed steel end mills and drills.
  • Perform frequent changeovers for small quantity custom orders.

Successful candidates would have a blend of experience including:

  • Proven inspection skills and ability to work to very tight tolerances
  • Above average math and problem solving skills; demonstrated ability to use basic trigonometry to calculate angles
  • Machine set ups and adjustments
  • Computer literate, ability to enter programs and must be able to use measuring/testing equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Previous experience operating CNC grinding equipment such as: Walters, ANCA, Star, Schutte, Rollomatic preferred
