Production Buyer/Planner

Production Buyer/Planner Job Description:

Responsible for purchasing, planning, scheduling, transportation and coordination of products through the production process .Work with the supplier base to insure the best overall price, quality and service is achieved.  Establish weekly schedules based on order input and material availability.  Coordinate and initiate production plans that ensure material availability to meet production schedules and delivery to the customer. Interface with customer service, purchasing, transportation, finance and production to review and prioritize production orders.

  • Purchase specific products to support weekly production schedules.
  • Coordinate the delivery of purchased materials to insure production is not interrupted.
  • Maintain inventory levels to insure availability of parts.
  • Manage supplier base to insure the best overall cost, quality, lead time and service.
  • Develop, distribute and maintain production schedules for each department.
  • Evaluate planning parameters to ensure accuracy of schedules and deliveries.
  • Optimize and balance the daily work load for each department to achieve on-time deliveries.
  • Monitor daily production status. Coordinate issues with the appropriate support function.
  • Take appropriate action to maintain the accuracy of the work system. Create and close production orders daily and update BOM’s. Process material receipts and material transfers in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate order changes with production and suppliers to insure order accuracy.

    Production Buyer/Planner Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in purchasing, production scheduling and inventory control in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with MRP scheduling software (SAP).
  • Must be able to handle multiple issues against strict deadlines.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Quality Layout Technician

Quality Layout Technician Job Description:

The Quality Layout Technician will spend the majority of the time on completing layouts. Other duties may include training others on measurement techniques and calibrating equipment.
• Add dimensional details to blueprints or drawings made by other workers.
• Compute layout dimensions, and determine and mark reference points on workpieces for further processing.
• Design and prepare templates.
• Inspect parts to verify conformance to specifications.
• Locate center lines and verify template positions, using measuring instruments such as gauge blocks, height gauges, and dial indicators.

Quality Layout Technician position qualifications:

• Blueprint Reading
• PPAP Experience
• Optical Comparator Experience
• Knowledge of hand tools – caliper, micrometer, pin gages, etc.
• GD & T Experience

  • Monitors the changes in industry, relevant federal, state and local statutes, relevant policy of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, the field of procurement and technology and matches them against current and changing departmental needs.  Monitors the impact of technology changes and public policy changes in the County and advises the Purchasing Manager.
  • Conduct multi-department and cooperative solicitations that meet the needs of the participants.  Conduct multi-department cost analysis and make the appropriate recommendations.
  • Coordinate and assist departments with developing specifications, scope of services and developing the evaluation criteria for formal solicitation.
  • Develop and revise performance based product specifications.
  • Coordinate the distribution of solicitation documents, internal and external communications and solicitation opening.
  • Creates unique procurement documents and/or methodologies to address special procurement requests.
  • Evaluates responses, tabulating bids, analyzing costs and recommending awards.
  • Attend and conduct pre-bid/proposal conferences.
  • Maintain project files for projects that are assigned including the ongoing acquisition of required documentation (insurance certificates, W9 forms, etc.) and completion of suspension/debarment searches, when necessary prior to awarding a contract to a potential vendor.
  • Assist department heads with the appropriate documentation to process waiver of bids and/or sole source requests.
  • Verify compliance of insurance coverage and performance and payment bonds as required.

  • Assist the other senior buyer as a backup.
  • Perform a managerial role as needed based on the availability of the Purchasing Manager.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and subject matter and assists in the training of purchasing staff and personnel from other departments.

Perform “first piece” inspection, in-process checks at the designated intervals, “last piece checks” prior to parts moving to the store room or shipping area.

Plastics Inspector/Operator PART TIME 1ST SHIFT

Plastic Inspector/Operator Job Description:

  •  Inspect plastic injection molded parts for defects and imperfections according to established procedures
  • Weigh, label, bag and box parts that pass inspection and meet quality standards
  • Review supporting product documentation
  • Examine product blueprints as required
  • Maintain cleanliness in work station and all work areas
  • Complete other plant duties as assigned by shift supervisor including pad printing, sonic welding, medical product assembly, and other secondary operations

Plastic Inspector/Operator Requirements:

  • Strong candidates would have ability to effectively use calipers and micrometers
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions and decimals important.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Candidates will have to be make-up free and will wear protective clothing and masks in this clean room environment.

    Candidate will work a 4 hour Monday-Friday shift between 8 am-4 pm.
