Welder/Fitter

Welder/Fitter Job Description:

  • Use measure devices to assist in layout and fit of steel to be welded.
  • Weld pieces together in flat, vertical or overhead positions, to make the desired completed product according to documented print.
  • Grind burrs and sharp edges using hand grinders.
  • Examine completed work pieces for defects such as deformed edges and marred surfaces.

Welder/Fitter Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ welding experience. 
  • 2 years’ fitting experience preferred.
  • Ability to use basic mathematics and measurements.
  • Experience working with and reading blueprints.
  • Experience with layout and measuring.
  • Ability to inspect fabricated parts before welding.
  • Ability to operate overhead crane – (will train)
  • Capable of bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, working overhead and standing for long periods of time while performing job tasks.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work overtime

  • Review and interpret written work instructions
  • Operate vertical/horizontal band saws.
  • Use saw to cut test specimens according to prescribed spec or work order.
  • Interpret basic blueprints and drawings
  • Accurately use basic measuring devices, including tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
  • Operate surface grinding equipment.

  • Ability to read a ruler/tape measure to the 1/16th of an inch.

  • Able to understand basic blueprints.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, overhead crane and jib hoist. (will train)

Stainless Steel Polisher

Stainless Steel Polisher Job Responsibilities: 

  • Polish and finish stainless steel parts and fittings to specified surface finishes using grinding, sanding, and buffing tools.
  • Visually inspect parts for welds, pits, scratches, scale, and other surface imperfections.
  • Remove flaws to meet cosmetic and functional standards, blending surfaces as needed.
  • Use appropriate polishing compounds and techniques depending on the material and finish specifications such as ASME BPE, SF1, SF3, SF4,
  • Follow work orders, blueprints, and instructions to achieve proper finish.
  • Maintain and care for polishing equipment, ensuring safe operation and cleanliness of work area.
  • Track and report work performed and time spent on jobs using a computer.
  • Work closely with fabricators, welders, and quality control to ensure standards are met.

Stainless Steel Polisher Job Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in metal finishing or polishing, preferably with stainless steel.
  • Familiarity with various polishing tools and abrasives.
  • Ability to visually detect and assess surface defects.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is a plus
    Desired skills:
  • Understanding of sanitary or pharmaceutical-grade stainless steel finishing standards.
  • Experience with TIG weld seam blending.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements related to polishing and grinding.

 

 

Production Operator Assistant

Our client is looking for helpers who have the desire to become extrusion machine operators.   On the job training is provided to learn the product and equipment.

Production Operator Assistant responsibilities:

  • Enters blend data in computer, complete set up checklist of extrusion line, draining raw material from hoppers, assist with product changeovers.
  • Quality checks of the plastic film including identifying visual defects in film.

Production Operator Assistant Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must have experience in a manufacturing environment running equipment used in manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Bilingual Spanish is helpful

Hours are 6 am-6 pm Monday – Thursday/Monday – Friday =48 hours one week and 60 the following week.
