We are seeking experienced Machinists with a strong background in Manual Horizontal Boring Mill operations within a job shop environment. This role requires a high level of versatility and the ability to independently manage complex machining tasks from setup to inspection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform highly diversified machining operations including boring, drilling, tapping, and milling on carbon steel parts
- Select, set up, and adjust tooling; replace worn or damaged cutting tools as needed
- Set up parts on machines or machining centers, including proper alignment and edge finding
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using micrometers (inside & outside) and calipers
- Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings
- Apply strong knowledge of machining principles, including speeds and feeds
- Handle a wide range of parts, from small fabrications to large, complex weldments
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating Manual Horizontal Boring Mills in a job shop environment
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- Solid understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials
- Ability to perform setups and inspections independently
- Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts (required)
