The Cycle Counter is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records through routine cycle counting and reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods within a stainless-steel manufacturing facility.
Cycle Counter Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and scheduled cycle counts of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Investigate, analyze, and reconcile inventory discrepancies
- Accurately record count results in the ERP/MRP system
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Shipping to resolve inventory variances
- Ensure proper identification, labeling, and traceability of materials (heats, lots, serials, etc.)
- Support compliance with GMP, FDA, and industry-specific quality standards
- Assist with physical inventories and audits (internal and external)
- Verify inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and shipments
Cycle Counter Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or materials management in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
- Basic math skills and ability to interpret inventory data
- Ability to read and understand work orders, bills of material, and material certifications
- Experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of GMP, FDA, ISO, or ASME standards
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S)
