The industrial painter is responsible for applying paint and other types of coatings on manufactured goods and structures by using rollers, brushes, and sprayers. This job is a multi-skilled position and requires a keen eye for detail and physical dexterity. Must be forklift certified or be able to obtain certification through our program. Must possess the ability to operate an overhead crane.
Industrial Painter Job Responsibilities:
- Perform sight quality inspection and report missing or bad welds for correction prior to painting items.
- Mix and thin paint or other coatings to specified color and consistency according to customer requests.
- Set up and operate equipment to paint or coat products.
- Monitor paint operations to identify flaws and correct the causes.
- Regulate controls on equipment and paint booth to cure and dry paint or other coatings.
- Operate lifting and moving devises to move materials and equipment to access areas to be painted.
- Rack work pieces on skids, inspect, mark, and transfer finished products to staging / shipping areas.
- Maintain records of paint issued and inventory of supplies on hand.
- Perform dry mills check on coated parts and record.
Industrial Painter Job Requirements:
- Acute attention to detail and ability to exercise good judgement.
- Operate material handling equipment.
- Minimum 3 years/experience in an industrial production painting environment a plus (please note experience with residential, carpentry, and commercial building painting is not transferable).
- Ability to interpret drawings.
- Ability to lift / move up to 50 pounds.
- Prioritize and plan work activities efficiently to meet deadlines; work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
