Quality Assurance Supervisor’s main responsibilities are to provide direct verification of multiple plants conformance to quality and regulatory standards, to provide support and guidance (written or verbal) to management, staff, and customers, and provide training to staff as needed.
Quality Assurance Supervisor Job Duties:
- Supervise Quality Technicians in QC functions
- Ensure the quality control procedures are implemented during every step of the production process and finished goods
- Maintain and validate quality documentation
- Assist in addressing quality issues and report quality findings and issues to superiors whenever necessary
- Respond to client complaints related to the product quality conducting root cause analyses and taking necessary corrective actions in a timely manner
- Plan, conduct, address and report findings on internal quality audits
- Compile quality information needed for management review and on a planned, regular basis
- Take appropriate corrective actions on identified problems concerning audits, production and documentation
- Establish and manage the food safety management system and procedure – this includes developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and programs to meet quality control.
- Work with a third party to certify the organization for quality control and other applicable standards.
- Review documentation submitted by suppliers
- Perform trend data analyses of test results
- Support the development of new products
- Maintain daily, weekly and monthly Quality System reviews and documents
- Establish department budget, work schedules and future project planning
Quality Assurance Supervisor Job Requirements:
- Audit experience, both internal and external
- Familiarity with ISO & FSSC-related processes
- Regulatory and Safety Experience is a plus
- Must be able to read, understand, and communicate complex technical information for projects and training
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Drivers license to be able to travel to multiple plants
- Bachelor of Science or Arts in Chemistry, Biology or related field required
- HACCP certification required or must be able to obtain within 3 months of hire
- Previous experience with the Food Safety Management System is highly desirable.
